The dates for the 2020 Guided Tours have been announced. There are 6 tours of the Old Growth Conservancy and 2 tours of old-growth areas outside the Conservancy. These tours are part of the Society educational program and are free to all participants.

The Lighthouse Park and Whyte Lake tours focus on the logging history in the local area. These tours are primarily on trails but some trails may be steep so basic fitness for hiking is required. Tours meet at 10:00 AM and can take 3 hours or longer. You should bring a snack and water to enjoy the experience.
Old Growth Conservancy tours meet at Hi-View Lookout on Cypress Bowl Road at 10:00 AM and car-pool to the Conservancy. Tours take approximately 3 hours and you should bring a lunch to enjoy in the Conservancy. These tours move move at a slow pace and much of the walking is off-trail including steep terrain, fallen trees and underbrush. Only a limited number of participants are available for each tour and typically they fill up early.
For all tours sturdy footwear, long pants and a long-sleeve shirt (for brush and bugs) are recommended. Please bring water, something to eat, insect repellent and optionally a hiking pole for stability.

Unfortunately, children under the age of 10 and dogs cannot be accommodated. Tours may be cancelled due to unfavourable weather.
