Guided Tours of the OGC

Once again Hugh Hamilton and David Cook are giving guided tours of the Old Growth Conservancy in August and September when the forest floor is drier and better able to withstand the foot traffic. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of the Conservancy.

We meet at 9:30 AM at Hi-View Lookout on Cypress Bowl Road then car-pool up to the Conservancy. The off-trail tours take up to 3 hours and can include steep terrain, fallen trees and underbrush. Sturdy footwear, long pants and a long-sleeve shirt (for brush and bugs) are recommended. Please bring water, something to eat, insect repellent and, if you like, a hiking pole for stability. A release of liability will be provided and must be signed before the tour. Unfortunately, children under the age of 10 and dogs cannot be accommodated.

The tours are free, but preregistration is required. Email ogcs.wv@gmail.com with your preferred dates.

Aug 20 – Saturday
Aug 23 – Tuesday
Aug 27 – Saturday
Sept 10 – Saturday
Sept 15 – Thursday

Feel free to share this invitation to your friends. We want to spread word about the Conservancy to as many people as possible.
